It's a Wrap

Stalks of asparagus are pushing skyward. All is well with the world :o) Warm, gusty winds are threatening to send my laundry hither and yon. I suppose this last day of February is getting a jump on March's "coming in like a lion".

These are my lovely nieces and sister. They came out on Saturday, and got a crash course in soap wrapping. Thanks so much ladies! It was a fun time. My nephew helped J plant onions. Well done, all!

I signed up to take a beginner's crochet class tonight at Circa Gallery. Not that I really need another project to add to my growing list. We'll be making a face cloth, which I'm thinking can't take terribly long. I'm not sure how much I'll learn in a two-hour class, but I am sure it will be a fun time.

Today's the day! It's Raining Cats & Dogs at Circa Gallery. I dropped off soaps yesterday, and said hello to Fido, who Joseph made with this show in mind. The show coincides with Out & About on Sunset, which is always a good time. Many shops stay open, and there is usually live music, often in several venues. Some beer or wine and tidbits on a lovely summer's eve. Some pretties to look at. Add in some friends. Sounds like a good way to start the weekend to me! Have a good one, friends!

Bountiful Tomatoes & Hand-Painted Silk

It's been a great week. Circa Gallery now has Joseph's Star Turtle sitting in it's front window. Woohoo! I played at Circa with Cori Cagle, an artist friend, painting some silk that I'm going to turn into eye pillows. There's such good energy there; so many creative folks coming & going. It was great fun to be around it all. Cori is painting a silk poncho for a wearable art show. I can't wait to see it finished. I rinsed my silk this morning & hung it on the line. We attended the "grand opening" for Lumina Wine & Beer's new porch last night. Even with a few sprinkles, it was a lovely way to spend a summer's eve. Our garden is producing lots of good things, even with the lack of rain. The tomatoes are amazing. Joseph & I are canning the first round of them today. Still, we may just do a rain dance this evening.
