Daffy Daffodils

This weekend, Joseph & I began working on a project that has been in the works for some time.  We are creating a walkway from the driveway to the house, which meanders through the woods about 30 yards.  As it's a little unusual, I'd like to do a tutorial, so if you'll forgive me, I will take pictures as we progress, and post about it when it's done.  A sneak peek may be given at some point, though.

It's been a beautiful weekend here.  These are the early-bird daffodils I spoke about recently.  The last of the orchid blooms are spent, so new blooms are most welcome.  Have a great week!

Thoughts of spring have been on my mind.  The weather has been unseasonably warm, so that daffodils have begun blooming, and we needed no heat for a couple of days.  Some fresh ideas for the shop have me excited, and ponderings shared with friends have given new inspiration.  I captured this image one recent morning.  Wishing you a lovely weekend!

Mucking About

Slowly but surely, details and paperwork are being taken care of.  This week, I plan to work on catching up on my ironing and mending.  This morning is gray and drizzly, so it seems a good day for ironing.  I have some Little House on the Prairie episodes from the library to amuse me while I work.  I didn't watch them years ago, but after reading The Wilder Years, I thought I'd give them a look.  I'm loving my new boots, a gift from my Mom.  They bring me cheer on these gray days.  I hope you too have things to cheer and amuse you these days!

I wanted to stop by and say hello.  Progress is being made.  Cabinets are being emptied and wiped down, oil lamps being readied for use... though it's been a very mild winter so far, I'm still hoping for a big snow storm... paperwork is being organized.  It feels good!  The picture is quintessential McNibs... he loves to vex Guinness with little tidbits he picks up.  Have a wonderful weekend, friends!

Birth of a New Year

The start of a year seemed the right time to "birth" my new Baby Bar soap.  Something about the beginning of a year makes me hopeful that this will be the year we all come together as brothers and sisters, around this blue-green jewel of a planet.  Finding these videos yesterday feeds that hope.  Voices from numerous countries coming together to create something beautiful.  The world wide web is a tool of awesome power.   May we use it with the highest of intentions.

I'm feeling the need to take a break from here, to literally and figuratively get my house in order.  I'll be back before long.  I hope you enjoy the music!
