The Adventures of Lady Mary ~ A Giveaway
The purple finches have arrived, their color welcome at the feeders. In these days of shortening light, I suppose it is natural to become introspective. But boy, it's been exhausting this year! I believe we sign on for particular lessons to master in life, and one of mine is surely communication. There have been things I wished I hadn't said, things I wished I had said sooner, much second guessing and ruminating. Though I've worked to make things right, it was a bit of a rough road for a few days.
I believe things are beginning to shift, and I am looking forward to the lengthening days. On that note, I'd like to offer a giveaway to honor the Winter solstice, and the returning of the light. A friend and purveyor of fine teas has just released her book The Adventures of Lady Mary, an action-packed, swashbuckling adventure.
There is magical fantasy, cleverness and wit, bravery, geography, some smart tea information, and many lovely illustrations. The book is geared towards children, but is written to be enjoyable for adults as well. To enter, just leave a comment. If you're a tea drinker, & would like to share your favorite, even better, but any comment will qualify. I'll close the giveaway at midnight on Dec. 20, and a winner will randomly be picked and announced on the 21st.
** Giveaway Update- J picked the name from a bowl, & Angie is the winner! Happy Solstice, friends!

Sorry you had a rough few days, Laurie. Life never gets easier does it? I'm not much of a tea drinker, but I like to have a cup of Russian tea at Christmas time for old time's sake. My tea drinking friends tell me that it isn't "real" tea. Hope today goes smoothly for you!
Hugs
Jane
I too struggle with saying the right thing at the right time. More often than not I end up not saying anything but that isn't the best solution either.
Please enter me in the book give away. I drink English Breakfast tea daily except on Sunday I have Market Spice.
Oh my, we are so similar in our thoughts!...and what a nice giveaway. The book looks facinating, as I'm sure it is. I am a tea drinker and my favorite is probably just plain ole chamomile with a little honey and fresh coconut milk. I have a small tea garden beside our back door with chamomile, lemon balm, and echnacia and several mint varieties that I keep in pots.
I don't know you well, but from what I do know, you are a good and honest soul. Communication can be a slippery slope. I am sure your integrity shines through all of your words.
Thanks everyone, for your kind words. Jane, you brought to mind Constant Comment. I'm thinking that was similar to Russian Tea? Fairview Farm, one of my ponderings was if enjoying solitude had something to do with not having to talk, & how much easier that was. Angie, chamomile tea with coconut milk and honey sounds interesting! Michele, I'm going to hug you next time we meet!
Hi Laurie! Russian tea is a mix that was popular in the 60s, especially around Christmas time. It's made up of Tang, instant tea and lemonade mix and some spices. It sounds terrible but I guess that's why I like it. Ha! It has more of an orange and lemon flavor than a tea flavor. Have a wonderful evening!
Hugs
Jane
Jane, Constant Comment is something similar, just the non-instant version. I think it only had orange, spices, and tea, but no lemon. Thank goodness we're all different!
